Was talking to a friend about running the standard chartered marathon and dont know from when the topic was switched to something else and it linked to the topic on love. Yes love. He shared that love is not about choosing who to love and when to love. I do see love as a choice but it isnt a choice every now and then that you choose...to love someone at this time, on this day and then the next day, you decided not to love this person because of blah blah blah. Love is a choice that you make and you stick to it as an everyday approach towards others. But hey, I am making it sound easy but it really isn't. I am finding it especially hard, really. Perfect love drives out all fear (1 John 4:18). Perfect love should also drive out shortcomings, differences and anger. I personally like the message version because it's really clear.

^17-18God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we're free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ's. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.

I guess in life we will experience different kinds of fear and anger...towards God, the people we love, strangers etc. Sometimes it's really weird but ultimately, regardless of the fear or anger, we should always remember that if we love a person, we shouldnt be fearing or be angry for long. Aren't we all imperfect after all?
